The Romans Road to Salvation

There are verses all over the Bible that point out God’s plan for us. There are a great deal of verses that speak of God’s love and ultimately Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. For example, John 3:16 tells us that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” The following few verses about God’s Plan of Salvation come from the book of Romans. They are often called “The Romans Road” and can even include other verses from Romans.

1. We are all sinners in need of a Savior.
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

2. We all deserve death (because of our sin), but God gives us a free gift through His grace.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

3. Confess, Repent, and Acknowledge: Trust in and surrender to Jesus our Lord.
Romans 10:9-10 “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

4. Our assurance of salvation is through Jesus Christ.
Romans 10:13 “For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

5. No one can ever take away your salvation.
Romans 8:1: “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”
